About Us

Thanks for stopping by.

My name is Douglas McKee. I am a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist, CRNA for short. I have been administering anesthesia for quite a while. In that time I have seen a huge difference in the average health status of my patients.

In the last few years, the average health of my patients has taken a nosedive. Never in my career have so many patients been so sick.

Sadly, it looks like our pre-operative anesthesia history form should be printed with the boxes already checked for Obesity, Hypertension, Diabetes, and High Cholesterol. Those conditions are now very common. 25 years ago when we had a patient present with them we were concerned because then they were considered really sick.

Lately, I have been asking my patients four questions.

  1. How long have you been a diabetic?
  2. Are you on pills or insulin
  3. Has anyone talked to you about giving up sugar?
  4. Do you know that 40-50% of Diabetes Type two can be cured, or that 80-90% can be avoided?

Probably 50-60% of my patients have a diabetes related condition. Many have non healing foot ulcers, abscesses, or kidney failure,

Some days are difficult. When I have a 40-50 year old type 2 diabetic and we are going to put in a dialysis graft because their kidneys have failed, I am, at one time, sad and really angry. Their life expectancy has really been cut short and current science says it probably did not have had to happen. This is why FatMouseDiet has come into being.

Judging by the responses I have received to the questions above, not nearly enough patients are being informed about what  they can do to significantly decrease their likelihood of developing type 2 diabetes, or what they can do if they already have it.

The really terrifying information coming out recently indicating that Alzheimer’s Disease is in all probability Diabetes Type 3 has put this project into high gear. Just last week there was an article from England predicting that ONE IN THREE will develop Alzheimer’s Disease in the coming years.

With the recognition that Diabetes Type 3 in the brain is probably caused by the same thing that causes Diabetes Type 2 in the rest of our body, we all need to make every possible effort to avoid getting it. And that one single thing we can all do is get fructose our of our lives.

The studies available are sometimes really medically technical. If you don’t understand what you are reading, email me and I will see if I can translate it into English. :-)

Best Regards,

Doug
